During the dental hygiene appointment our skilled hygienist will routinely scale and polish your teeth using both a variety of dental hygiene methods including an Ultra Sonic Scaler which can remove surface stains and break down unsightly build ups that can wreak havoc with your dental health. The dental hygiene appointment is a very popular treatment with our patients due to the effects of stain removal from your teeth which can boost your confidence

Hygiene Extra - includes a Flash Pearl Polish:

This is the standard hygiene treatment but also includes stain removal using our airflow machine. The machine uses a fine air-polishing powder to remove heavy stains caused by smoking or drinking tea or coffee. This treatment is great for patients who have sensitive teeth and usually find the ultrasonic cleaning very sensitive.

It can also be used as an excellent pre-treatment for tooth whitening.

Towards the end of the dental hygiene appointment the hygienist will advise you, in personalised detail, on ways to optimise your dental hygiene levels with maintenance care at home. This could include how to use dental floss effectively and alternatives to using dental floss for those who find it particularly difficult and/or inconvenient to use. The dental hygiene appointments can also work in conjunction with your dentists appointments to get the best results from your dental treatment.

Dental Hygiene appointments are available with Pendragon Health for patients who have had a check-up with Pendragon Health within the two year period before the hygiene appointment is booked. If you haven’t had a check-up in the last two years or are not a registered patient with Pendragon Health our hygienist will require a consent form and medical history document to be completed and returned prior to booking your dental hygiene appointment
